About your coach

Who you'll be talking to

After the world stopped from COVID, I moved cities, unsure of what was next, and found one of the great loves of my life. Then, my world stopped again. He was diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia, and everything changed. What once felt urgent no longer did, and my priorities completely rearranged.

I lived in the devastating pause after everything screeched to an abrupt halt, trying to regain my bearings and see the forest through the trees. Lost, I learned to trust that even without a clear path forward, the world's forces could help point my way north and, eventually, my new direction. The experience fundamentally changed how I view resilience and the complicated nature of being human. It also deepened something I'd spent years developing professionally: the skill of helping others to navigate complexity, understand themselves and others more clearly, and take a step forward when the answers aren't obvious.

Ever since, I've dedicated my time to supporting those navigating all kinds of change and looking for a way forward. Having survived debilitating grief that I still carry, I bring a unique, thoughtful, high-trust approach incorporating both analytical rigor and emotional sensitivity.

Outside of the tools used to maintain the website, I do not use AI for any aspect of my coaching; all notes, ideas, and summaries are my own. The irreplaceable connection and exploration within the coaching space need to be preserved and experienced through a purely human lens.

FAQs

Coaching is for anyone seeking a safe, non-judgmental space to explore new perspectives and grow. Whether you're working through something specific or simply want to understand yourself better, coaching offers a thoughtful partner to find your way through it. A free discovery call is the easiest way to find out whether we're a fit.

While therapy may include a diagnosis and excavating the past, coaching is an outcome-oriented, thought-provoking process in which the client is inspired to optimize the present and future.

Everything we talk about stays between us. The only exceptions are written consent given by the client and those required by law: illegal activity, a valid court order or subpoena, imminent risk of danger to self or others.

North of Clear goes beyond motivation to help you think more clearly outside of the box. My approach combines analytical rigor and emotional intelligence, helping already-capable individuals access their strengths when life gets in the way. My firsthand experience within high-performing corporate environments, working alongside people with diverse backgrounds, deepened my understanding of the pressures that arise both personally and professionally.

The Principles

Four guiding principles

Honesty, even when it's uncomfortable, is the foundation for meaningful growth. By being truthful with ourselves and each other, we can gain the clarity to understand our circumstances and move forward intentionally.

I believe we possess more wisdom and insight than we sometimes realize. My role is to ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, offer new perspectives, and create the conditions for clients to discover their own answers.

We can't choose what happens to us, but we often have more choice in how we respond to things. Recognizing that freedom allows us to shape our lives more intentionally rather than feeling defined by our circumstances.

Guilt often keeps us looking backward while anxiety pulls us toward an uncertain future, but the present is the only time we can consciously engage with our lives. We can't change what has already happened or guarantee what comes next, but we can choose how we respond to what is here now.

Words to remember

Then said my friend Daniel,
(brave even among lions),
"It's not the weight you carry

but how you carry it—
books, bricks, grief—
It's all in the way
you embrace it, balance it, carry it

when you cannot, and would not,
put it down."
